Small grants scheme launched for refugee teachers
24 Aug 2010
The small grants scheme is available for people registered on the RiT national refugee teachers database who require a small amount of financial support which would be used to support their education, training and employment goals.
RiT is now operating a scheme to pay for products and services that can help your return to the education sector.
These grants are used in cases of hardship where there are no other sources of public financial support available. The maximum available grant through this scheme is £300 but this will be for exceptional cases and we envisage that most successful applications will be for grants of under £150.The grants can be used to cover the following:
- GCSE English, maths or science courses
- GTTR registration fees
Exam fees
Equivalency tests
Membership of professional bodies (for example subject associations, Teachers Unions)
Travel to open days
Course required text books
If you are interested in applying for a small grant to cover any of the above products of services, you must be registered with RiT.
Please read the accompanying notes carefully before you apply. If you have any questions about whether the product or service you need is covered, please call us to discuss on 020 7346 1167 or 1166, and we will be happy to help.
The application form must be filled in in full, with all necessary supporting documents. If it is not completed fully, we will be unable to process it.
